Johnny Marr’s management company have hinted that they declined a request from Prime Minister David Cameron for free gig tickets.
Johnny Marr, former guitarist of The Smiths, is currently on a UK headline tour. The Conservative Party Conference is running in Manchester until Wednesday (October 7). Marr plays two consecutive nights at Manchester’s Albert Hall on Wednesday (October 7) and Thursday (October 8).
Writing on Twitter, Marr’s management company Trust Management hinted that they had received a request for guest list tickets to one of Marr’s concerts from a "HIGH profile person who’s working in Manchester this week!!!"
Meanwhile, Jonny Marr releases his new solo live album Adrenalin Baby on Friday (October 9) through Warners.
The 17-track double album documents his live performances over the past three years. The majority of the live recordings are taken from Marr's O2 Academy Brixton and Manchester Apollo shows in October 2014. They were part of the 'Johnny’s Playland' tour, which supported 2013's debut solo album 'The Messenger' and 2014 follow-up, 'Playland'.
In addition to his solo material, 'Adrenalin Baby' also features covers of tracks by The Smiths, including 'There Is A Light That Never Goes Out' and 'How Soon Is Now?' plus a cover of The Clash's 'I Fought The Law'.
Commenting on the album, Marr said: "I wanted to capture the atmosphere and feeling of the last couple of tours. It’s been a special time and the album is a document for fans who were there, and for people who haven't seen me and might want to check out what the shows are about. I like live records when they're a good listen. It's turned out really well."
