X Factor's Sam Bailey on Beyoncé: 'She didn't even bother to meet me, who does she think she is?'

Former X Factor winner Sam Bailey has criticised Beyonce for a supposed lack of "decency", revealing that the star never met her when they performed together at a live show.

The TV talent show winner supported the star at her Birmingham concert after finishing in first place in the tenth series of the programme in 2013.

Bailey hit out at the former Destiny's Child member in The Sunday Times magazine.


"I supported Beyoncé as part of my X Factor prize, but she didn't even bother to meet me. I'd never do that. I'd have the decency to say hello," she said, adding: "Who does she think she is?"

Bailey insists she had the last laugh, however, saying: "When she was on stage, I was at the front, and while she was proper going for it my son spent the whole time playing Minecraft on his iPad."

The former winner also expressed her uncertainty about the show's new additions to the judging panel. "I still tune into it," she said, "but I'm not majorly keen on the judges. Nick Grimshaw doesn't look comfortable, and while Rita Ora's a great singer, I'd find it hard being told what to do by someone just out of drama school."
Meanwhile, Louis Walsh has hinted that he might be returning to X Factor.

The Irish music manager served as a judge on the ITV talent show for its first 11 series, but was not asked back for this year's run, which introduced new judges Grimshaw and Ora. 

With ratings down on last year, rumours have been circulating that Simon Cowell could be planning to reinstate Walsh in a bid to improve the show's fortunes. Asked whether these rumours are true, Walsh said on ITV's Loose Women: "I don't really know. Simon said the door was open for me, I talked to him last night. There's a possibility I might be back."

"We talk all the time," Walsh then said of his friendship with Cowell. "I think there’s a chance [I'll be back]. It's the best show in the world. There's three or four acts on the show that are incredible. I would love to work with them."

Walsh spoke about The X Factor with typical candour earlier this month, telling Lorraine Kelly and ITV: "I'm missed and Dermot [O'Leary] is missed - let's be honest." He also said the show was more "fun" with previous judges Sharon Osbourne and Kelly Rowland.
